The Position (Summary):
The Machinist 1 will be responsible for performing set-up and operation of CNC mills and/or lathes to produce an end product that meets or exceeds design specifications. The successful candidate should be able to create set-ups and machine needed parts with some supervision.
Minimum Essential Requirements:
* Safety
* Puts safety first above all else
* Works safely and assess all situations before proceeding
* Keeps work area clean and free from hazards
* Uses guarding provided and does all necessary pre-work checks
* Quality
* Progress with training on the process to inspect parts and materials used in the production process are free from quality defects
* Work to gain the ability to accurately use and ensure calibration of measuring tools such as Calipers, Bore Gauges, Micrometers, Thread gauge, Depth Gauge, Height Gauges, Gage Blocks, Pin Gages, and Hardness Testers
* Read and interpret schematics and drawings, including geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, communicating with Engineers as necessary
* Train to progress with skill sets that produces quality documentation, including non-conformance reporting
* Machine Product to Required Specification
* Train and progress in the ability to read and process 2-d detail prints
* Adjust machine tools to meet specifications, including cutter compensation and tool diameter differences
* Record proper set-up documentation
* Inspection & Documentation
