Knox County Community Health Center Mount Vernon & Danville, Ohio

Full-Time Position (Typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm)

Why This Role Matters: As an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA), you’ll be a key player in delivering high-quality care and creating positive patient experiences. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes—helping people feel confident, healthy, and cared for.


What You’ll Do - Bring your skills to life in a hands-on, fast-paced environment:

  • Perform expanded duties such as, but not limited to, placing composite and GI restorations, Sealant placement, Silver Diamine Fluoride placement
  • Work chairside with dentists—anticipating needs and ensuring smooth, efficient procedures
  • Contribute to the dental team by helping with instrument sterilization, operatory disinfection and equipment maintenance
  • Capture and process dental X-rays
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
  • Maintain accurate patient records and support daily office operations
  • Help create a clean, safe, and welcoming clinical environment


What You Bring - We’re looking for someone who is both skilled and passionate about patient care:

  • Completion of an accredited EFDA program
  • Current EFDA certification (REQUIRED)
  • Current X-ray certification (REQUIRED)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence
