Rigger Supervisor – Job Description
The Rigger Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all rigging operations to ensure lifts are planned, executed, and completed safely and efficiently. This role involves supervising rigging crews, coordinating with crane operators and site management, and ensuring full compliance with safety standards, regulations, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct daily rigging activities on site
- Plan and review lift plans, including critical and complex lifts
- Ensure all rigging equipment is inspected, certified, and used correctly
- Coordinate with crane operators, engineers, and other trades
- Enforce safety procedures, permits, and risk assessments
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Train, mentor, and evaluate rigging personnel
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure work is completed according to project schedules and specifications
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Rigger Supervisor or Senior Rigger
- Strong knowledge of rigging methods, load calculations, and lifting equipment
- Relevant rigging and lifting certifications
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Ability to read and interpret lift plans, drawings, and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Must have NCCCO and/or NCCER certification
Working Conditions:
