QUALIFICATIONS:
High school education or equivalency; prefer some experience as a switchboard operator or receptionist; able to type fifty (50) words per minute without mistakes or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience; successful completion of LEADS certification and Criminal History Checks certification. An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for this position.

Job description:
Receives calls and dispatches patrol deputies by location and availability to:
o Accidents
o Complaints
o Incidents
o General Calls
Receives calls and dispatches EMS and fire departments, as necessary
Receives and directs 911 emergency calls
Prioritizes calls
Communicates and cooperates with other law enforcement agencies, as necessary
Records log information including:
o Radio
o Fire
o EMS
o Emergency
o Towing and accident
Operates equipment including:
o 911 computer
o LEADS computer
o Fire and EMS paging systems and radio
Conducts LEADS, CCH and arrest records checks
Enters warrants into LEADS/NCIC data-base system
Maintains records including:
o Fire and squad run logs
o Tow sheets
o Incident reports
o Warrants
o CCH logs
Compiles and prepares Initial Complaint report
· Serves papers on station
CLERICAL
· Answers the telephone, directs calls and takes messages
· Makes photocopies
· Performs basic typing assignments
· Files documents
· Sorts mail
Files Ohio accident reports
MISCELLANEOUS
· Assists with receptionist duties, as needed
· Attends meetings and services on temporary committees, as requested
Maintains and increases knowledge and skills through attendance at meetings, conferences, training seminars and in-service training sessions
· Performs additional duties and assignments, as requested
