GENERAL SUMMARY:

PolyOne is seeking a summer intern to join the Operational Excellence team, which provides global solutions and services to enable PolyOne and its customers to reach world-class performance. The Operational Excellence Internship provides a current MBA student with project opportunities within operations management, sourcing, logistics, or manufacturing. Types of activities may include distribution, supply planning, strategic sourcing, customer management, demand management, master scheduling & planning, inventory management, research & development, and network optimization.  During the internship they will establish relationships with peers and leaders, learn fundamentals and be provided feedback from the program manager. Upon completion, participants may have the opportunity to join the Operational Excellence Leadership development Program after graduation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in cross-functional project teams within operations and supply chain.

Make recommendations to Management based on business case and analysis.

Assist in the creation of world class internal processes in areas such as strategic supplier management, contract management, operations, and operations planning.

Interface with Operational Excellence and all areas of the business units to insure improvements are implemented and sustained.

Identify and develop key operational excellence metrics and measures to facilitate performance improvements.

Interact with Senior Management, build relationships with other employees across the globe and make a difference in PolyOne's future success.

          

Currently pursuing an MBA with an Operations or Supply Chain Management focus

Minimum of 3 years of experience with a thorough understanding of demand management and forecasting, supply planning, distribution requirement planning, inventory management, production planning, master scheduling, operations management, etc.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to acquire, assimilate, and analyze data from multiple systems and data sources using a variety of business intelligence and reporting tools.

Project management experience, team facilitation, data analysis, change management, best practice translation, and process improvement experience is ideal.

Holds themselves and team members accountable for a high level of performance.
