As the Infrastructure Engineer, you will report to the Production Operations Manager and are directly responsible for designing and supporting both on-premise and cloud-based Microsoft Server infrastructure. You will work closely with the Infrastructure Services and Application Services teams to design, implement and support key technologies including: Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Exchange/Exchange Online, Windows Server Clustering, Active Directory Certificate Services, MS Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS). This role ensures that these services are highly available, have appropriate capacity in place and are fully resilient across multiple data centers, including cloud services.
Principal duties and responsibilities
Provides full design, planning, configuration, documentation, deployment and top-level support ownership of on-premise and cloud-based (Hybrid) server infrastructure technologies.
Coordinates and manages day to day operations as well as participates in project work and changes to the production server environment.
Maintains awareness of technology developments and makes recommendations to management.
Assists with resolution of escalated incidents and participates in problem management activities.
Cross-trains other IT staff in the use or maintenance of technology.
Supports efforts to architect infrastructure solutions around business requirements.
Exhibits accuracy, attention to detail, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and ability to work in an atmosphere of multiple projects and shifting priorities.
Coordinates efforts with industry vendors around design and choice of infrastructure selection.
Works with Project Managers to identify requirements, work breakdown structures, activity lists, activity estimates, project schedules, and technical documentation.
Represents Infrastructure Services in cross departmental efforts, focusing on infrastructure impact in terms of architecture, cost and operational efficiencies.
Mentors others on team around IT infrastructure and industry developments
Proactively identifies improvement opportunities in the technical environment
Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.
Strong working knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing and firewalls
Experience and knowledge working with Azure and/or AWS to engineer new solutions and migrate legacy systems to the cloud[PM7] [SM8]
Experience with the Microsoft suite of products including Azure and Office 365 and Exchange Online
Familiar with changes necessary to maintain performance levels of applications when transitioning from on-premise environments to IaaS public clouds (Azure);
Experience working with cloud technologies and SaaS solutions
Candidate must be a quick learner with exceptional communications and customer service skills;
A proactive mind-set with a focus on constant improvement and follow through at all levels
Strong technical problem-solving skills;
Ability to take ownership of issues, work independently or escalate as needed, and find creative ways to resolve problems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly, and concisely present complicated computer concepts to end-users with differing skill levels.
Knowledge of ITIL Service Management principles.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills as necessary to communicate and coordinate with others on both routine and non-routine matters. Ability to resolve problems independently in accordance with defined policies and procedures. Ability to work successfully with minimal supervision in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
Demonstrated ability to:

Experience working in high-pressure professional services organization or other similar organization requiring attention to detail and sensitivity to confidential and proprietary information.
BA/BS or equivalent work experience preferred.
7+ years' experience in relevant technology and business skills as detailed above.
