Position Description: Procure and deliver specified products and/or services from qualified vendors at the most favorable prices and terms. Assist in engineering, administration and execution of projects and coordination with the national Logistics group.
Reports To: Logistics Manager, Logistics Regional Operations Manager, Logistics Regional Manager
Essential Duties & Responsibilities*:
Initiate purchase of equipment from qualified vendors.
Assist in the development general and/or special conditions, and documents for the project to ensure that the scope, schedule, M/WBE requirements, are clearly defined for the bidders.
Review and recommend solutions to scope of work and change order issues or disputes.
Examine plans and specifications for any deficiencies, construction issues, and technical questions and make recommendations in leveling sheets.
Implement project bid procedures, bid preparation, pre-qualifications, and approval of bid lists.
Administer bid process, including bid response period.
Receive and analyze bids and conduct scope review meetings with competitive bidders.
Confirm scope and price with vendors.
Recommend approval of vendors and awards to such vendors.
Process vendor purchase orders through the national Logistics group.
Supervise Engineering Assistants and/or interns. Provide input on performance appraisals.
Establish and oversee procurement schedules, including attendance at project meetings.
