SUMMARY: Manages and supports the Merchant with import and domestic new product development. Assists in product/customer strategies in order to improve performance metrics such as sales, margin and inventory turnover.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops product strategy based on an in-depth understanding of the corporate product portfolio and customer strategy that will positively impact sales and margins.
  • Manages level 1 domestic and import product development responsibilities, including:
    • Research of historical data, creation of items ensuring margin targets achieved, IOQ and annual volumes are accurate, sample approvals and interdepartmental meetings
    • SA projects
    • MC item card creation/communication across departments
  • Assists the merchant with level 2 import product development projects:
    • Includes research of historical data, ensuring margin targets and volumes are achieved, creation of items, and interdepartmental meetings
  • Utilize external data resources to assist merchant in understanding competitive ecommerce landscape.
  • Collaborates with merchant to evaluate ecommerce post launch product performance.
  • Works closely with portfolio analyst and merchants to:
    • Supply ecommerce item level product performance to merchant ensuring product strategy and profitability goals are met.
    • Identify ecommerce product level performance issues and form a corrective action plan.
  • SAP Sales Order creation, inventory review and sales reporting.
  • Assist merchant in identifying ecommerce investment opportunities for sales team.
  • Works cross functionally to coordinate trade show needs (High Point) for department.

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, OR Associate's degree PLUS Minimum of 2-4 years experience, OR Minimum of 5-7 years experience, OR Combination of education and experience.

The successful applicant should have good leadership, organizational, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and team skills.

Must have a positive attitude and be self-motivated.

Individual must have strong communication and customer relationship skills.
