Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures,, the Clinical Resource Nurse is a Registered Nurse with a solid knowledge base of nursing theoretical frameworks and nursing practice as well as advanced clinical skills and communication skills. The Clinical Resource Nurse assesses, evaluates, and assists in providing direct patient care and education of patients and families who have difficult or unusual situations or require additional support and/or counseling. S/he collaborates and assists nursing personnel, medical staff, the education coordinator, and ancillary departments to provide optimum care to the critical and medical surgical inpatient population. The Clinical Resource Nurse also assists in the formal and informal education of critical care/med-surgical associates as needed; assists managers with ongoing case review, quality measures, and performance improvement activity; and provides input into the evaluation of nursing associates. The Clinical Resource Nurse promotes development of new technologies and policies in nursing based on current research and best practice standards, and represents nursing on appropriate hospital committees as assigned. Functions within the philosophy, objectives, and standards of nursing practice and policies and procedures of the department of nursing.
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, A BSN required or must be actively enrolled and complete the degree within two years of hire.
Valid unrestricted license with the Ohio Board of Nursing. BLS and ACLS is required Must also be an ACLS instructor or within to obtain within six (6) months. CCRN preferred.
A minimum of four (4) years recent critical care experience,including post Open Heart recovery experience, is required. Experience with educational preparations and presentations required (candidate may include one on one teaching for this requirement). Management experience is preferred
Must demonstrate the ability to make sound judgments based upon advanced scientific knowledge, critical thinking and expert clinical skills. Must have positive communication and leadership skills, be motivated and self-directed, and have the ability to integrate numerous job responsibilities. Must also demonstrate the ability to teach and mentor those receiving education and clinical experiences.
Full Time, Nights, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am Req # 3873 Shift: 12 hour shifts
Days: Days - Monday - Friday Weekends: Weekends - every other as needed
Hours/Pay Period: 80 hours per pay period
