Job Summary
Oversees the Information Services (IS) annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, reporting and analysis processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
In this position, you will lead the IS annual project and operating budget process and engage with Cost Center Owners (CCOs) and Project Managers (PMs) to complete this process; you will also provide assistance in the documentation and defense of their budgets.
You will lead the IS monthly project and operating forecast process. Engages with CCOs and PMs to understand trends and expected variances to the budget.
You will lead the annual IS capital budget and reforecasting process.
Develops and prepares capital and operating budgets and forecasts.
Reviews budgets, forecasts, reports and analysis done by others in the department and provides direction.
Oversees the production of IS monthly financial reports.
Leads financial reviews with IS management.
Develops communications of IS financial guidelines and deadlines to CCOs.
You will prepare pre-close monthly variance reporting to Finance.
Examines capitalized development work in process balances to ensure proper classification and timely start of depreciation.
Analyzes expense data to highlight trends and potential areas of concern. Proactively performs in-depth research and analysis to draw conclusions and propose recommendations for process and expense improvements.
Implements approved process and expense improvements.
Designs trending reports and metrics for IS Management.
Develops and implements templates, forms and tools to support financial processes.
Develops financial models to support decision-making on proposals.
Leads complex financial analysis projects.
Reviews charters, provides guidance to preparers on proper designation of expenses, validates assumptions and analyzes variances to prior years and current year budget.
Completes external surveys and benchmarks for the IS department. Ensures appropriate information is shared and works with others throughout IS to complete the surveys. Keeps records of same.
Coaches, advises and trains less experienced staff in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis.
Acts as Liaison to Finance.
Contributes to the Firm's overall initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally. Displays integrity, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.

Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

Required Experience
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration. MBA is a plus.

At least three years of financial analysis, financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting experience.
Minimum three years' experience with Excel, intermediate to advanced level skills.
Strong finance background with knowledge and application of accounting principles.
Experience with business analytics and in information technology is beneficial.
