Description

Position Summary/Essential Duties:  

 

1.  Independently manages and facilitates Quality Improvement (QI) projects

2.  Acts as resource to QI nurses

3.  Summarizes and analyzes clinical and operational data, develops summary reports, charts, and graphs, trends outcomes, and identifies opportunities for improvement from data analyses

4.  Acts as QI subject matter expert for Quality Center Staff and UH System stakeholders regarding meeting facilitation, clinical information, data analysis, improvement processes, and quality assurance

5.  Manages and/or provides oversight for the planning and execution of major quality events including but not limited to the Quality & Patient Safety Fair, Surgical Safety Conference, Medicine Summit, and QC Retreats

6.  Serves as QI content expert, leadership escort, and scribe during major Accreditation surveys at UHCMC and participates in ongoing accreditation readiness activities

7.  After initial program development and execution, manages a standardized, comprehensive orientation process for new QI RNs
  8.  Identifies barriers to success in meeting System Quality Priorities and collaborates with leadership to develop solutions
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Nursing, BSN 3 plus years of experience RN - Registered Nurse  Experience in quality improvement, acute clinical care required. Masters Degree Preferred. Will consider evidence of BSN progress within 3 to 5 years.

Experience & Knowledge:

*  QualityAssurance & Process Improvement skills required

*  Minimum3 years quality improvement nurse experience 

*  Minimum3 years acute care clinical experience

*  Cardiac experience preferred
