Job Duties- Will perform a variety of facility-related duties, includes both custodial & maintenance tasks. Will complete daily maintenance, custodial & room setup requests & regularly reports work status to Supervisor. Sets up facilities for meetings, programs & events. Assists in event setup & teardown. May Assist w/ keeping library vehicles fueled, clean & in good working condition. May work with tools, ladders & maintenance supplies as directed. Performs a variety of tasks, for example, installs, repairs, maintains & otherwise cares for buildings, fixtures & equipment. Maintains open line of communication with Support Services Manager in relation to material deliveries and/or maintenance. May perform minor electrical or plumbing repairs ( replace switches & outlets, ballasts & exterior/interior lights or washers, faucets, disposals & toilets). Moves or assembles furniture & shelving. My prepare and/or paint interior/exterior building surfaces, May perfor general labor & grounds maintenance: mowing grass, lawn edging, weed removal, cleaning, trash disposal & snow removal. My coordinate and/or pickup custodial maintenance supplies. Empty trash & recycling containers. May perform general cleaning duties including but not limited to: checking janitor’s room for special instructions, vacuuming, cleaning glass on doors & lower interior windows, restrooms, mopping all tile floors, cleaning countertops, dusting high areas for cobwebs, cleaning refrigerators. Will address customer concerns/complaints & refer them to supervisor when appropriate. Provides new customers with information about the library, promotes library information, services & programs. Answers questions about events & location or refers to appropriate person. Promotes library in community. Monitors customer usage of the libraray facilities & takes a proactive approach in preventing disruptive or unsafe behaviors or conditions. Demonstrates positive attitude & supports library goals & objectives. Keeps library clean & safe. Mya conduct informative tours as assigned. Prepares for, participates in & attends library meetings. Reports maintenance problems to appropriate authority; informs supervisor of needed supplies, cleaning problems & concerns. May collect statistics & prepare reports. Other duties as assigned.
Please Note: Workdays will be between Monday & Friday, 1st shift, 20 hours per week/ three 8-hour days. Starting wage is $10.50 per hour. Must be able to be bonded by the library’s bonding company.
Qualifications- Must be at least 18 years old, have a HS diploma/equivalent, possess & maintain a valid Ohio Motor Operator’s license & must be insurable under the library’s automobile vehicle insurance policy. Must be able to do heavy lifting up to 100 lbs. consistently. Related job experience or equivalent experience preferred. Must demonstrate a positive attitude & support library goals & objectives. Must have excellent oral & written communication skills, computer knowledge including internet search, MS Word, email skills, data entry & file management. Must be comfortable with mobile technology such as tablets & laptop. Must have knowledge of basic mathematical skills. Must have the ability to operate mechanical equipment. Will be travelling to other branches 60% of the time & must be willing to use own vehicle in fulfillment of job duties.
