Job Description

Responsible for developing and executing air service strategic objectives, key initiatives and tactical plans to expand air service and increase airport usage at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.

Researches, plans, develops and implements comprehensive strategies and tactical plans to expand air service at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
Proactively pursues domestic and international passenger and cargo air service development with existing and potential new entrants:
Promotes CVG, communicates organization’s interests to selected air carriers, and, if necessary, advocates for airport/airport system with Federal Aviation Administration.
Works collaboratively with air service consultants to achieve CVG air service objectives.
Represents CVG at air service related trade shows and seminars.
Coordinates with Communications team to develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and programs to support passenger and cargo air service development at CVG.
Maintains awareness of airport capacities and master plans.
Conducts research on and identifies passenger, cargo and general aviation services wants/needs of region.
Makes air service projections.
Identifies target markets for service increases.
Conducts outreach to educate and influence target audiences about positive economic impact of air service to region.
Conducts weekly, monthly and quarterly trend analysis on passenger and air carrier statistics.
Develops and delivers presentations to airport stakeholders and external audiences.
Represents CVG on targeted multi-cultural chamber and trade associations.
Works in cross departmental task groups to include Administration, Finance, Operations and Customer Service to design and implement air service development initiatives.
Provides regular air service updates for Executive Leadership and KCAB Board members as directed.
Responsible for all contract management activities as documented in KCAB Policy 1014, Contract Management.  As the subject matter expert responsible for all key aspects of contract management ensuring KCAB’s interests are represented in any business activities regarding the agreement.  Prepares RFP’s, bid specifications, and negotiates contracts.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field to the area of assignment and ten years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:

Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance.
Obtain/maintain position appropriate NIMS & emergency training.
KNOWLEDGE OF:

Airport and Airline operations and business practices;
Knowledge of and use of air transportation technologies such as Diio, ARC and Bureau of Transportations Statistics data bases;
Knowledge of and use of International Trade Data and Analytics tools such as WISERTrade data.
Public relations and marketing concepts;
Project management.
Aviation data research and analysis including working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft data management tools.

SKILL IN:

Clearly and effectively communicating, negotiating and advocating, both orally and in writing;
Demonstrated skill in public speaking and presentations;
Demonstrated organization skills;
Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including, power point, word processing, and spreadsheets;
Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: fingering, grasping walking, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Both domestic and international overnight travel are required.

Light Work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
