Job Description

Deliver high quality code and design, ensuring overall application quality. Lead junior developers. Provide application- and code-level design services: responsible for application-level design; ensure good code-level design. Provide support to Tech Lead in the following areas: defining scope, estimating effort, determining timeline, and estimating resource needs. Ensure quality of technical deliverables in area of expertise: responsible for creation of high-quality code; ensure quality of application (functional, performance, syntax, etc.); assist in determining and enforcing coding standards. Lead development process in area of expertise: maintain high awareness of all ongoing work; provide developers with oversight to deliver quality code and design; code and ensure automated unit tests are written; perform code reviews; assist Tech Lead in review of estimates, sprint plans etc. Ensure documentation of application code and design. Perform timely code merges. Provide build-to-run services: perform knowledge transfer to run team and maintain documentation for area of expertise. Assist Tech Lead in build and deployment process, and to setup and maintain project environments. Provide input to implementation planning. Support during dry runs and implementation. Maintain awareness of and implement new industry best practices in area of expertise. Develop knowledge of entire stack and enterprise systems to understand how area of expertise meshes with other areas. Requires bachelor’s degree in electronics or computer engineering, MIS, or related field plus 84 months of experience in integration development and complete software development lifecycle (or Master’s degree plus 60 months); 72 months in Java/J2EE Development using Spring, Spring Boot Development and Object Relational Mapping, WebService, XML, WebSphere Application Server, and SQL (or Master’s degree plus 48 months); and 60 months in all of the following: Gosu development; Guidewire rating and algorithm development; Guidewire screen and field configuration; Guidewire product model setup, performance tuning, messaging, environment setup, and troubleshooting; Guidewire Edge development and custom transaction creation and setup; Guidewire application architecture design and role and permission configuration; and Guidewire integration knowledge and development. Also requires proficiency with SQL development, Splunk and Web Development Server, and MongoDB; expertise in middle tier Java integrations and backend Guidewire Policy Center or Claim Center development; and ability to lead other developers. Email resume to careers@stateauto.com
