Are you looking for a fantastic career at Aqua America? We have a great opportunity for a HR Business Partner II. In this role, the ideal candidate will serve as the HR partner, employee champion, and talent driver for our Operations group. Working with our HR Expertise areas, the Human Resources Business Partner will manage and implement HR interventions, balancing the needs of the business with the overall HR strategy. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource related issues, while assessing, anticipating and resolving HR related needs. The position formulates partnerships across the business to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.   

Responsibilities:

Maintain knowledge of labor/union issues and best practices in order to promote positive labor relations. This includes working in union environment, understanding & managing through a CBA, and negotiating contracts.
Provides employee and labor relations support, counseling employees and managers on ways to improve performance and collaboration.
Participate in the execution of Labor Relations strategies and the resolution of Labor Relations issues.  Responsible for compliance with Union Contract(s).
Direct interaction and communication with managers and employees regarding policies and procedures. 
Work collaboratively with subject matter experts in Labor Relations, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting and other disciplines to fulfill the company's mission to create a workplace where talented people want to come, stay and thrive.
Maintain an excellent working knowledge of HRIS (Workday experience preferred) and ability to maintain reports as requested.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources or related field.
Broad knowledge of employment law, compensation and organizational development.
In-depth knowledge of union requirements related to human resources and employee management, including managing and negotiating contracts and related federal and state employment laws.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present training programs and lead presentations are needed.
Must have ability to work in a highly confidential area with changing priorities requiring organization and flexibility.
Comprehensive of labor protocols, employment relations, union grievance and interpretation of contracts.
HR certifications preferred (PHR, SHRM)

Knowledge and skills:

Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and application of federal, state and local employment laws.
Experience coaching managers in addressing ER/LR issues.
Experience on a team in merger or acquisitions desired.
Strong consulting, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and partnership focus. Proven ability to build relationships, trust, and rapport, as well as impact, influence and collaborate at all levels of management.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as within a team with a high level of collaboration, professionalism, personal integrity, and dependability.
