Essential Functions:

  • Perform routing service & prevention maintenance on school-owned vehicles & equipment.
  • Maintain records for fleet maintenance
  • Perform record keeping functions to accurately track repair costs, fuel & other inventory
  • Snow & ice removal
  • Ability to analyze systems & diagnose problems.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:                                                                                       

  • Clean & maintain safe work area
  • Occasional maintenance of buildings & repair of facilities
  • Provide occasional general assistance to custodians in all buildings

General Description:

  • Ability to get along with others
  • Experience with truck & diesel mechanics, with ability to analyze systems & diagnose problems
  • Must have CDL certification
  • Must have basic mechanic hand tools to perform job duties
  • Perform record keeping functions
  • Knowledge of welding & metal fabrication
  • Will report to Transportation/Building & Grounds Coordinator

  • Standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reading, hearing, color vision & sitting

Details: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, 1st Shift. Starting wage range is $18.44 to $23.46 per hour, based on education, experience, skills & abilities.


  • HS Diploma/equivalent & experience from 2-year college or technical school or 1-2 years related experience and/or training, or combination of education & experience
  • BCII check
  • Ability to use calculator & basic math skills
  • Ability to deal w/ confidential information
  • Knowledge of interaction of chemicals (MSDS)
  • Ability to repair vehicles to pass state safety inspection
