The Department of Cancer Biology has an opening for a Research Assistant to study molecular mechanisms in renal cancer (Cancer Cell, 2012 & 2014). The work focuses on mechanistic studies of tumor suppressing and oncogenic autophagy; biochemical and metabolic pathways reprogramed by cancer cells; and multi-omics system biology analyses of cohorts of human cancer specimens, with specific interest in identification of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers.
Essential Function: Applies professional knowledge, skills, and training to help conduct experimental research work in a particular discipline.
* Performs experiments and records data according to research protocols;
* May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data;
* Interprets data and assists in judging validity of data;
* Responsible for successfully completing assigned tasks;
* Applies research principals for less complex assignments;
* Serves as a developing level research assistant.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a profession/field or equivalent level of knowledge.
Ideal Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with practical knowledge of standard molecular biology laboratory techniques.
This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
