We're seeking an experienced, motivated Lead Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our Network Management Services team. You will not only support OCLC on-premise projects that require your expertise in network infrastructure, but in the Cloud using the latest technologies.
Service Operations (Run)
Troubleshoots firewall/network links, hardware problems and/or applications.
Formulates and implements procedures and standards relating to the network tools infrastructure.
Participates in unit, system and acceptance testing by designing test infrastructure, building test data, test execution and evaluation.
Service Transition (Build)
Design and implement the network infrastructure and continually strives for improved operational efficiency.
Assists in developing and interpreting requirements. Translates requirements and designs into standard, functional network systems
Participates in the analysis and implementation of 3rd party solutions for OCLC infrastructure with the ability to understand the impact and analyze the risk.
Service Design (Plan)
Designs, tests, and implements multiple components of network systems in a timely manner.
Requires good technical writing skills including ability to write clear, concise project documentation and ability to draw Visio configurations.
Requires good verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with other organizations within OCLC.
Skills represented by 6-10 years of Network Engineering in a highly available network environment
- Familiar with network monitoring and analysis tools; Ability to analyze and solve problems in existing systems
- Works with other areas in implementing significant architectural changes. Successfully manages multiple projects or sub-projects.
- Working knowledge of standard network infrastructure tools, load balancers, firewalls and network equipment.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills through resolution; understanding problem from the network, OS, and application levels. Can use packet capture programs to assist in problem resolution.
- Experience in AWS, APIs, automation tools, Gigamon, Riverbed, and Infoblox a plus.
