The Logistics Engineer assists in the development of logistics and supply chain solutions for new and existing customers. Incumbent will work as a member of the Logistics Solutions team to develop solutions to generate new business opportunities as well as to increase opportunities with existing customers.
Assemble data from varied sources in formats appropriate to the specific analysis.
Participate on Project Teams in the design of solutions and preparation of proposals.
Research labor, transportation, and equipment costs.
Use network modeling techniques to design and optimize transportation solutions.
Use spreadsheets, Visio, AutoCAD, SST Model, and world class warehousing techniques to design and optimize solutions.
Assist in operation implementations.
Assist in customer presentations.
Assist in demonstrating logistics tools.
Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Logistics, or related field is required.
At least two (2) years experience in Logistics is required, five (5) years preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, senior management, clients, customers, and the general public.
