Our Finance department is currently seeking a Plant Controller to join the leadership team at our plant in Hilliard, OH. As Plant Controller, you will mainly be accountable for the consolidated summary and reporting of the plant's production and financial performance based on standard costs and budgets. You will also be responsible for providing analysis and consultation on the financial impact of current results as well as projected actions.

What you'll be doing:

Analyze and interpret plant operating results and recommend plan of action to improve financial performance; perform all month-end financial closing responsibilities
Actively participate in plant safety system with Safety Leadership and Safety Coaching teams
Perform inventory control and reconciliation, including review and audit of adherence to cycle count procedures and lead annual physical inventory/fixed asset control.
Prepare detailed monthly forecasts based on production drivers and key performance metrics
Manage plant telephone system and local area network
Lead cost review meetings to update plant organization on trends, opportunities, and needs
Ensure plant conformance to corporate property accounting policies and procedures
Ensure integrity of and accurate valuation of the plant's assets
Prepare and develop annual plant budgets; develop standards and update period expense budgets in SAP
Develop and maintain non-financial measures in manufacturing performance measurement system
Prepare and coordinate studies on process improvement and capital appropriations
Oversee manufacturing control processes to support monthly closing, perpetual inventory, standard cost development and maintenance
Implement plant internal control procedures and provide guidance to plant personnel on preparation of plant practices & procedures
Conduct mini plant audits to insure compliance with corporate auditing requirements
Analyze and communicate both financial and non-financial performance on a continuing basis
Train and assist plant personnel on proper reporting of production activities
Generate and quantify cost savings opportunities and support plant management team with implementation of Lean cost reduction initiatives
Assist with capital process including review of capital project requests,
Identify obsolescence and project expenses; prepare financial justifications and ensure timely creation of assets in SAP

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
3+ years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment OR in public accounting, including experience in standard costing, cost accounting, inventory control, monthly closing and reporting/analysis
Prior experience in managing others either in a project/team or direct reporting relationship, with proven ability to successfully manage and resolve conflict
Advanced Microsoft Office skills and proficiency with SAP

Our Hilliard Plant, one of twelve Armstrong plants in North America, employs 100+ people across multiple shifts who are involved in the manufacturing and shipping of acoustical ceiling tile.  The Hilliard plant prides itself in placing high priority on safety, quality and exceeding customer expectations.
