A summary of the specific skills, knowledge and behaviors of this position are: The registered nurse provides direct resident care in accordance with local state and federal regulations. The Registered nurse ensures the timely delivery of resident care in accordance with customer service expectations and in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations governing the delivery of residnet care in the senior living care setting.
This position requires the incumbent to demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills for patients in the following age categories:

Adheres to the Mission by delivering resident care focused on: Resident Satisfaction as demonstrated by particpatation in rounding, discharge telephone calls, use of Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Expectations, Thank You (AIDET) in communication with residents and families or other similar stategies implemented on the resident care area as measured by My Innerview Surveys. Patient Safety as demonstrated by adherance to National Patient Safety Goals and other patient safety initiatives. Quality Patient Care as demonstrated by delivery of evidence based best practice care as measured by Core Measures & quality reporting organizations.
Demonstrates proficient assessment skills, including the physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, functional and pain /comfort level. Completes initial assessment and reassessments within established time frames. Uses assessment data to prioritize patient needs. Completes resident assessment form and notifies appropriate department of identified triggers. Notifies appropriate departments of pertinent patient information (i.e. allergies, weight, isolation, and oxygen use). Provides clear, timely, concise and legible documentation of pertinent resident information. Provides reassessment documentation which includes changes in resident's condition and response to treatment. Assesses nursing care administered by those under their direct supervision. Assesses patient for signs of abuse/neglect.
Uses assessment data to develop a prioritized plan of care in collaboration with other disciplines, the resident and family/significant other. Changes plan of care according to reassessment and changes in resident’s condition. Establishes realistic resident goals in collaboration with resident and family/significant other. Documents prioritized care needs on appropriate forms. Documents plan of care within established time frames. When appropriate, begins discharge planning on admission incorporating a plan to meet the educational needs of the resident and family/significant other. Supervises and provides daily direction to LPN's and CNA/PCA/STNA on the care area(s) for which they are working.
Delegates, assigns, directs, and supervises aspects of care to members of resident care team according to job descriptions, level of competency and federal, state and local regulations. Provides resident education directed to meet the continuing needs of the resident and family/significant others.
Evaluates resident progress toward outcomes daily and revises the plan of care based upon resident response to nursing interventions. Documents effectiveness of care/interventions.
Protects resident rights of confidentiality and privacy at all times. Demonstrates knowledge of role in emergency situations. Attends 100% of mandatory meetings, in-services, and continuing education and participates in committees as opportunities occur. Promotes unity, collegiality, and change in the nursing department by promoting supportive behavior and displaying a positive attitude. Promotes and follows the site policies and procedures and standards. Participates in performance improvement projects of nursing department as assigned by the Nurse Manager. Maintains the nursing station and unit in a neat, organized manner. Keeps abreast of changes within the site and the nursing department by reading policies, procedures, memos, communication book and attending required number of meetings. Assists with orientation of staff.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; associates or diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience dealing with the public in a patient care setting preferred. Previous experience as an RN or LPN in acute care preferred. Previous management or leadership experience preferred.
Current applicable state registered nurse license; Basic Life Support required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification as required by unit specific accountabilities.
Current applicable state registered nurse license; CPR certification. ACLS certification as required by unit specific accountabilities.
