We are looking for the next exceptional employee owner to join the team representing the SJE brands dedicated to serving customers supplying over 40 global markets as a Recruiter in our Detroit Lakes, MN or Ashland, OH location.

The Recruiter is responsible for supporting the full lifecycle recruitment process and managing the candidate and hiring manager experience throughout the SJE recruitment process to ensure a consistent and positive experience.  The Recruiter will recruit for targeted roles at all levels, based upon business needs and hiring goals. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive talent strategy and full life cycle recruiting process including sourcing, screening, selection, interviewing, assessments and extending candidate offers
  • Source candidates by proactively creating applicant pools and talent pipelines by posting job ads through job boards, social media platforms and professional associations
  • Conduct telephone, virtual, and/or in-office interviews with selected candidates
  • Support onboarding
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with the hiring managers and guide them through the recruiting/hiring process
  • Participate in job fairs and other hiring events
  • Utilize, update, and maintain the applicant tracking module within the HRIS
  • Stay up to date on state and federal employment laws and guidelines
  • Manage key performance indicators to report on talent acquisition metrics
  • Examine recruitment trends (internal and external) and use these insights to inform/refine strategy as needed in order to meet hiring needs
  • Participate in special projects as needed
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve the recruiting process and employment branding

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related area, or equivalent work experience
  • Three (3) years or more experience in multi-location sourcing and recruiting experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be organized, dependable and detail orientated
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Computer experience using an HRIS (UltiPro a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel occasionally
