Performs analysis of large datasets related to complex operational and business processes using advanced knowledge of higher mathematics, statistical theory and heuristics; investigates diverse areas of aviation business processes; recommends business policies and develops solutions for challenging business problems; supports executive leadership initiatives and senior management decision-making; synthesizes technical expertise with business acumen to communicate findings effectively; leads analytical projects from conception to end; prepares and delivers comprehensive presentations to business partners and effectuates changes based on results; works on sensitive and confidential projects dealing with proprietary information and leads assessments of internal and external threats; manages and reviews work completed by junior analysts; collaborates with, mentors, develops, and supports junior analysts; establishes team goals and is responsible for ensuring department goals are met. Produces project plans, conducts performance appraisals, and quarterly updates.
Master’s degree in Finance, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Statistics or a similar quantitative field. Must have two years of experience applying operations research principles using Matlab, Gauss, Stat, Python, Tableau R and S statistical and programming packages, managing large databases (10 terabytes or greater) with millions of observations, merging and updating data in those databases using SQL, Excel macro scripting validating data and imputing missing observations, programming estimation routines in Matlab, SAS, Stata and R, using advanced machine learning techniques to predict outcomes, and using Tableau GIS software to better predict spatial variation in outcomes. Experience may be gained concurrently and before, during or after qualifying degree.
