Essential Function: Assist in tasks related to laboratory research in a Neuroscience laboratory. Duties will include (1) general laboratory maintenance (ordering supplies) and (2) animal work (management of mouse colony, behavioral testing). Under general supervision, perform a variety of techniques including: RNA extraction, real time PCR, and immunohistochemistry. Be responsible for data organization and presentation at weekly meetings. Work closely with principal investigator and others to execute studies.
Ideal Qualifications: Wet lab experience (molecular biology, histology, protein analysis) is also important. The candidate must be able to work well within a team and have excellent communication skills. BS in neuroscience, biology or psychology. Experience handling rodents (mice and/or rats). Experience with behavioral assays is also important The candidate should be comfortable with data management in Excel, as well as competent with Word and PowerPoint.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a profession/field or equivalent level of knowledge.
