Laboratory support for all Technical Services functions including testing for complaints, product evaluations and evaluation sample bank panels
Test, aliquot, label and package specimens for evaluation testing
Perform product testing related to customer inquiries and complaints
Document testing in laboratory notebook using good documentation practices.
Inform appropriate person, TS rep, TS supervisor, Product Manager, etc. of pertinent information related to testing results as needed.
Work with Technical Support Supervisor/Director to evaluate product or process improvement ideas.
Perform product investigations and comparisons as needed.
Perform laboratory training for Sales team as needed.
Assist with literature searches and summaries.
Basic computer skills required including MS Office Suite, calculators and lab equipment
Basic laboratory skills including bacterial culture and experience with diagnostic assays a plus.
Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
Must be able to prioritize and handle urgent tasks when necessary
Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, organized and able to perform tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality requirements
Must be able to work overtime and weekends to support production efforts as needed.
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Associates Degree or course work in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent relevant work experience is desirable.
Clinical laboratory or diagnostic industry experience desirable.
Position may involve packing and moving of instruments and reagent kits
Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs throughout the workday in a multi-location facility
Must have the ability to inspect, analyze and concentrate throughout the course of the work shift.
Must be able to concentrate and problem solve routinely throughout the course of the work shift.
Ability to stand and or sit for long periods, stoop, reach, bend, push and pull carts and hand jacks throughout the course of the work shift.
Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (Lab coat, safety glasses, hair coverings, latex or nitrile gloves)
Must be able to identify and differentiate color / color changes on diagnostic devices or components
Must be able to read controls systems screens and written documents throughout the course of the work day
Must be able to detect audible alarms
