The Senior Tableau Developer will be a part of the Data & Analytics team supporting current data warehouse applications. This includes working with Tableau to support self-service data retrieval by business analysts, as well as developing advanced reporting, dashboards, and end-user training. The candidate will work in conjunction with other members on the reporting and analytics team (report authors, ETL developers, data analysts, etc.) on the implementation of such solutions.

Essential Functions
Strategy & Planning

Offer solutions to management based on data, come up with suggestions or ideas to help the company make better business decisions.
Influence and help drive the direction of business intelligence development, platforms, versions, and toolsets.
Develop best practices and communicate to business teams.
Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI development in conjunction with end users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Create prototype reporting, dashboards and modeling to review with business users, using an iterative process to achieve successful report delivery
Gather requirements, analyzes, and performs impact analysis.
Apply new technologies and skills for BI improvement in daily work through conferences, online training, reading, participation in organizations and user groups, etc

Acquisition & Deployment

Customizes Tableau reports/dashboards to meet the requirements of internal customers.
Working with the end users and process owners for continuous improvement of existing reporting and analytics to drive effective business improvement.
Timely and accurate completion of projects.

Operational Management

Support and administration of Tableau security in OIM and Active Directory.
Support of the client machines (Web browsers, Java Clients) in conjunction with Tableau.
Monitor recurring processes and ensures output accuracy and timely distribution.
Responsible for maintenance, documentation, and enhancements of recurring processes and procedures.
Create and maintain documentation on data warehouse processes and procedures.
Maintain business units semantic data layers (TDE, Hyper, Tableau Data Model).
Provide ongoing support of existing BI implementations.
Providing end-user support, including direct interaction with users, service desk support, and development of documentation, job aids and training guides.
Create and maintain documentation on Tableau training for the end users.
Assist with training peers and customers within the functional business areas on Tableau in a classroom environment.
Assist the business in understanding the reporting tools to allow them to better access the data independently.
Execute project plans to successfully meet objectives.
Adapting to changing priorities in a fast past work environment.
Assist users with problems and resolves issues independently.

Incidental Functions

Attend meetings on behalf of the Analytics team.
Make presentations to internal and external clients, and peer groups as requested.
Train and share knowledge with Data & Analytics team.
Assist with Lean projects as may be required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
Assist with projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.

Work hours outside the standard office 7.5 hour work day as required.

Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification

Bachelor degree or foreign equivalent in a related field or equivalent experience.

Knowledge & Experience

5+ years of IT experience.
5+ years experience of Business Intelligence Development
Minimum 3+ years of creating hands on dashboards or analytics with Tableau
Experience working with end users to troubleshoot problems with Tableau.
Experience working directly with business analysts or business sponsors to gather and validate functional requirements and provide the design specifications.
Experience working on a support team environment by documenting, researching, solving problems via phone calls or email ticketing system.
