Job Summary

This internship will be focused on material science combined with color and additive design work in the Innovation Center.

The Specialty Engineered Materials Intern position is a paid internship located in Avon Lake, OH.  Pay is commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions

 Collaborate on a functional, characterized colorant database for engineered resins

 Evaluate different software packages and the associated algorithms to enhance color matching process

 Create custom additive and color formulations to enhance performance of engineered resins

 Develop and maintain test plans, as well as track progress of the testing

 Support technology platforms in medical, FDA and durable thermoplastics

 Develop key communication and training materials 

 Create summaries of new capabilities which can be used by internal and external customers 

         
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

 Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering and polymer engineering (In process)
 Must currently be enrolled as a student at an accredited institution
 Excellent oral and written communications skills
 Problem solving/decision making/sound judgment
 Ability to handle multitasking, manage time, and prioritize tasks based on customer needs
 Attention to detail

 Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
