PositionSummary/Essential Duties:

Reviewssubmitted grants and contracts, including budgets, of protocols for basicresearch studies with the assistance of the Law Department.
Coordinateswith Research Finance and research department to ensure fiscally responsiblenegotiated non-complex lower value sponsor research budgets.
Assuresthe timely processing of administration of UHC protocols and grants.
Maintainsaccurate administrative records including database entries.


Bachelor'sdegree required


RequiredCredentials, License and/or Certifications:

Mustbecome CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) certified.
Willtrain to become a Certified Contract Coordinator (CCC).


Experience& Knowledge:

One(1) to three (3) years of experience in grant and contract administrationinvolving research (master's degree or law/business experience will beconsidered in lieu of research administration experience).
Excellentcommunication, writing and editing skills required.
Workingknowledge of applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experiencein clinical trial research and budget construction preferred.


SpecialSkills & Equipment Knowledge:

Individualwill be required to learn Cost Accounting principles for grant administrationin academic institutions (circulars A-110, A-21 and A-133).
