RISI Support Analyst II

The Senior PC Support Analyst is responsible for analyzing business needs, defining requirements, developing solutions, implementing systems, and managing installed applications in support of assigned Information Systems areas and customers. The Senior PC Support Analyst serves as the primary customer liaison for assigned business areas to assist customers with all areas of RIT support. A Senior PC Support Analyst provides mentoring and leadership for less senior staff by assisting with supervision, providing input and feedback on staff performance, assisting with resource planning, and delegating work. A Senior PC Support Analyst is expected to set the example in performing all job duties.

Responsibilities





PC Support Analysis and Support Plans
Installs, implements, and supports information systems to meet assigned customer needs.
Provides customer service to define business needs and translate those needs into system functionality requirements.
Provides analysis on system minimum and preferred specifications and system/product evaluation.
Creates and maintains high quality system, report, and quality control measures for building systems.
Assures data integrity and system survivability by recommending back up procedures
Assists manager with determining and defining necessary budget items to support hardware and assigned systems.
Assists manager with coordinating RIT resources for project and operational support.
Assists manager with recruiting, interviewing, training, assigning and scheduling work for Interns and less senior staff in the Desktop Services group.
Develops system documentation as required.
Provides effective user training and support.
Provides troubleshooting, problem analysis, debugging, and resolution of assigned system issues.
Performs system updates, patches, service releases, and upgrades as needed.

RIT Operational Support
Utilizes RIT Operational support systems to include the Service Desk, Change Control, Problem Management, source and version control, and other systems as required; leads the development of these systems through feedback and analysis, and assists in enforcing the support and use of these systems throughout RIT.
Builds and maintains vendor relationships to ensure products and/or services meet the business needs and objectives of the Hospital.
Works to minimize systems outages or downtime for users by scheduling Interns or other less senior staff to provide support of work orders and critical incident issues as needed to provide minimal disruption of service to users
 Assists manager by setting the example for providing fiscal responsibility by designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions to best utilize resources in areas of responsibility.

Project Management
Represents team on complex projects involving cross-functional departments
Represents team and participates as needed in project scope development, project status reporting, schedules project execution, manages vendor performance and customer expectations, and facilitates meetings.
Supports and helps with Facilities coordination of PC support for new construction and moves throughout the organization.

Information Assurance
Knowledgeable of and adheres to Children’s Hospital policies, processes, procedures, standards, and guidelines governing privacy, security.
Actively protects sensitive, classified, and confidential information.
Uses and accesses systems and information only for authorized purposes and in accordance with security procedures and guidelines to perform job duties as assigned.
Maintains individual accountability for security controls and measures (e.g., individual passwords are not shared with other users).
Reports suspected security and/or privacy incidents following established Children’s Hospital procedures.
Follows established procedures to conduct reviews and audits of systems and information for assigned areas of responsibility.
Maintains systems to keep information and resources secure and safe from known vulnerabilities to include updating applications and systems with security patches and code updates, applying appropriate virus protection, and testing changes before placing into production environments.
Assists Information Assurance staff in the development and refinement of Information Assurance standards, policies, procedures, processes, and guidelines.

Teamwork, Collaboration, Professionalism, and Leadership
Sets the example and provides leadership when working with other RIT staff in functional or cross-functional teams to meet goals, objectives, and responsibilities.
Sets the example in establishing and maintaining a professional demeanor and being accountable for their performance.
Sets the example for establishing a team atmosphere within RIT and other departments by interacting with others in an honest and straightforward manner, listening to and valuing the opinions and ideas of others, sharing knowledge, and helping others to accomplish goals.
Develops and maintains expert level knowledge and skills in technical and professional areas.
Mentors and trains RIT staff members in areas of specialty.



Qualifications





KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

Education:

Bachelor Degree in related Computer Science areas or equivalent experience required.

Required Experience:

At least 7 years experience providing systems analysis support required.
Experience in health care environments preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills required to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
Excellent project management skills required with a minimum of 4 years project management experience preferred.
Strong skills in use of PC desktop applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Ability to work flexible schedules to meet job requirements; requires occasional after-hours support and overnight travel.
Position requires the ability to interact effectively with customers and information systems personnel across the organization.

Minimum Physical Requirement:

Position requires ability to talk, listen and type.
