REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be available the entire work period of 11/15/2020-9/15/2021. Must agree to work Mon-Fri, 8 hours per day, Sat, 5 hours. Employer will provide transportation from employer provided living quarters to work site every day. Must read, and agree to, all terms and conditions of employment prior to a referral to the employer.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must have at least 3 months of verifiable experience in all job duties. This job requires exposure to extreme temperatures, ability to lift 100 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive walking, frequent stooping, extensive pushing and pulling, drug screen, criminal background check.

 JOB DUTIES: Handling manual tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. flowers, plants, vegetables, plugs, liners. This job requires a minimum of 3 months of agricultural experience working in a greenhouse or nursery handling manual tasks associated with production of flowers, nursery stock and vegetables. Workers must be able to perform manual tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Perform shoveling, hauling, ground preparation, and other manual tasks. Bending, stooping and kneeling required. Use hand tools including but not limited to shovels, shears, and clippers. Lift, carry, and load/unload products or supplies. Install/maintain irrigation systems and water lines. Clear debris from field and clean/maintain farm buildings, structures, equipment, and work areas. Assist with farm building/greenhouse maintenance and repairs. Build/repair fences. Plant, cultivate and maintain nursery seedlings and plants, including perennials, bedding plants, plugs, liners, vegetable plants and hanging baskets in condition for shipping and sale to customers. Pot/plant seedlings, fill and label trays, move product to greenhouses, and organize product on docks for loading, pull and assemble orders in accordance with instruction. Attach hangers to baskets and hang throughout seasonal holding houses using ladders. Move containerized plants using rolling/electric carts, load/unload trucks and product from conveyor belt. Prepare plants for digging by tying or wrapping as necessary. Dig plants. Drum lacing and quarter lacing. Wrap burlap or other covering around root balls and secure with twine and/or staples. Crimp wire baskets. Must understand nursery quality control standards and have working knowledge of production procedures. Must harvest crops according to specific standards. Must select and harvest crops pursuant to customer needs. Products must be handled carefully to prevent damage.
Work is done in the greenhouse/farm house for long periods of time. Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 100 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. Workers must work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive
walking. Work required in fields when plants are wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Temperatures during working hours can range from 10 to over 100 degrees F. Workers may be required to work
during occasional showers not severe enough to stop operations. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a workers ability to perform the job. Workers should be able to do the work required with or without reasonable
accommodations. Must report for work daily wearing work clothing and boots or other durable foot wear. Shorts, bathing suits or other casual clothing not permitted. Workers wearing clothing inappropriate for work will not be permitted to start work. Supervisor(s) will provide instructions and directions to workers. Workers must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively to supervisors. Unusual, complex or non-routine activities will be supervised. Workers expected to perform basic duties in a timely and proficient manner without close supervision. Workers must obey all safety rules and basic instructions and be able to recognize, understand and comply with safety, pesticide warning/re-entry and other essential postings. Workers must operate equipment, with or without direction, in a manner that protects operator, visitors, other workers, products, trees, crops and equipment. Failure to comply with safety requirements and operating instructions may result in termination. Use, possession, transfer, offer, sale or manufacture of marijuana and/or controlled substances strictly prohibited.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES:

BOARD ARRANGEMENTS: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers are able to prepare their own meals. The employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.

HOUSING: Employer-provided housing is available for all workers who live outside a reasonable daily driving distance.

TRANSPORTATION TO WORK SITE: The employer will provide transportation for all workers living in the employer-provided housing to and from the daily work site(s).

WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE:Provided.

TOOLS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT: Tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
