The University of Cincinnati Maintenance and Operations Department manages the upkeep, general maintenance, and service requests for more than a 100 buildings on multiple campuses at the University. The University Maintenance and Operations Department at Reading Campus is seeking to hire up to two (2) Custodial Workers who will under general supervision, perform duties to provide care, cleaning and maintenance of buildings, furniture, and fixtures.
Ability to understand and follow instructions and safety procedures for cleaning all rooms and common areas.
Ability to communicate with managers, supervisors, coworkers and customers.
Must have strong and positive interpersonal skills
Clean and disinfects bathrooms. Replenish supplies.
Empty and clean trash receptacles. Take trash to designated pickup area or incinerator.
Clean walls, windows, doors, ceilings, shelves, ledges, mirrors, woodwork, vents, window frames and other surfaces.
Sweep, mop, strip, wax, polish and renew floor surface and clean, vacuum, and shampoo rugs and carpets.
Sidewalk and building walkways snow and ice removal
General event setup and laborer (setting up chairs, tables, stages, and platforms)
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ability to count, read and write numbers; ability to read and understand warning signs
3 months of experience or training in institutional or industrial cleaning is preferred
Some positions may require a current valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift materials weighing up to 70 pounds and be able to demonstrate full range of motion for reaching, bending and stooping.

Pay Grade: 82 Pay Rate: $13.64 per hour start Post Probationary Rate: $14.32 per hour
