This role is responsible for relationship maintenance of key Avient customers in the Building and Construction market. Works closely with the Avient sales team and customers to identify unmet needs and develops liquid colorant and/or chemical foaming products to serve as solutions. Optimizes customer processes and conditions while providing education to customers on how to run Avient liquid colorants and chemical foaming additives. Troubleshoots issues raised by customers. Accountable for resolution of complaints raised by assigned key customers. Responsible for developing a new application or product launch testing plans, data analysis, and communication of results. Requires five plus years direct, relevant work experience with the ability to operate independently.
Actively participates in the development of liquid colorant and chemical foaming products, new applications, product launch testing plans, data analysis, and communication of results.
Works closely with customers to optimize performance of Avient formulations and processing of the resulting PVC compound on the customers manufacturing equipment.
Works closely with the Avient sales and marketing teams to defend position at assigned key customers in the Building and Construction segment. Supports commercial growth efforts at identified target accounts based on the business growth strategy.
Manages filing, maintenance and support of regulatory certifications (e.g. NSF) for customer and/or Avient products.
Works with new and established customers to identify technical specifications. Develops or modifies liquid colorant and/or chemical foaming formulations to meet customer specifications.
Works closely with the Operations team to ensure successful product scale-up in Avient's manufacturing facility.
Works closely with the Technical Service team to ensure successful product implementation in the customer process. Active participant in optimizing customer process and/or Avient dosing equipment to ensure technical success.
Documents and prepares product specifications incorporating Avient products and services into customer applications.
Develops testing for customer specific production needs.
Manages successful resolution of customer complaints/issues.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering (preferred but not required)
5+ years experience in PVC formulation, compounding and extrusion
Knowledge of pigments for use in PVC applications is desirable
Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and think outside the box
5 years combined formulating or process engineering experience
Strong Analytical, technical and strategic thinking skills
Effective communication skills
Project management experience
Proficient understanding of Microsoft office
Ability to travel up to 50% domestically on company business
Additional Consideration Given For
Master's degree in science
Experience in color concentrate formulation (solid or liquid)
Formulation of chemical foaming additives for use in thermoplastic extrusion or injection molding applications
