Assist a variety of engineers (test, sustaining, new product development) with multiple tasks involving the mechanical engineering functions at JLG Industries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare vehicle component layouts using Creo.
2. Select parts or components for quality conscious design, i.e., weight, cost, reliability, and ease of manufacturing.
3. Follow project on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production build and provide technical assistance.
4. Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc.
5. Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions to problems.
6. Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or vehicle components.
7. Create and manage ECN's (Engineering Change Notices) using the SmarTeam PDM (Product Data Management) system.
8. Design and model new mechanical systems that integrate with a vehicle.
9. Update bill of materials in the PDM (Product Data Management) system to reflect product changes.
10. All other duties or projects as assigned.

If working in the Test & Development area, some responsibilities may include:
1. Establish requirements for testing of heavy-duty vehicles and associated equipment.
2. Create test plans, recommend resources of equipment necessary to accomplish the test, and formulate test project estimates.
3. Conceive necessary fixtures and test apparatus, and supervise their construction and development.
4. Coordinate, supervise, and monitor testing; record test data.
5. Recommend corrective actions needed to achieve reliability and performance, and maintain schedule and cost targets.
6. Communicate status and results of tests to internal departments, suppliers, and customers.
Required Skill Set
Perusing a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

3.0 GPA or higher
