As the Planner, you will be responsible for strategic coordination of transportation planning geared to exceed customer expectations. What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Develop and execute coordinate the tactical transportation plans for multiple manufacturing facilities. This includes inbound, interplant, and outbound transportation plans.
  • Manage transportation events and enhance carrier utilization to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.
  • You will work with other groups as well: our Material Resource Planners, Distribution Resource Planners, manufacturing personnel, customer service representatives and service providers.
  • Understanding freight bill payments and assisting Accounts Payable in resolution and corrective action.
  • Strategically develop, recommend and implement cost savings and/or service improvement programs.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 1 year of logistics or transportation experience

It'd be great if you also have:
  • Basic knowledge of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
