About the Job


Thisposition is an internship within the Perioperative Services team and allows forthe incumbent to gain experience within the Perioperative environment at amajor academic medical center. This position may last for 12 months or more.
 Assists with project management initiatives,     including business analysis, data management, data entry, and specific     tasks for departmental special projects or reports; assists with the     coordination of project meetings.
 Assists in other activities unrelated to a     specific project, including basic support and data report generation     needs.
 Provides essential administrative support to     ensure the smooth operation of the office



 High School Diploma or Equivalent.
 Currently pursuing a bachelors of arts or     science or masters degree in computer science, engineering, management     information systems, mathematics, healthcare administration, pre-Medicine     studies, or a closely related field.
Candidates currently pursuing a degree in project management preferred.

Experience& Knowledge:


Experienceand interest in clinical informatics and/ or research preferred. Must be ableto use personal computer.  Familiarity with Microsoft, Office productsWord, Access, Excel, and Outlook required.  Familiarity with commonprogramming and database languages and concepts preferred.


Highintegrity level and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.


SpecialSkills & Equipment Knowledge:

Abilityto work independently and in teams.  Should demonstrate attention todetail and accuracy.  Must have good judgment, organizational, anddecision-making skills.  Candidate must be courteous and professional,even in busy or stressful situations.  Proper casual business attire willbe required at all times. 


Strongverbal and written communication skills.


Demonstratedability to apply concepts, utilize sound judgment and work independently.
