Job Description
Position Title: Specialist, Digital Design I
Pay Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Customer Service
Position Relationships:
Supervised By: Supervisor, Customer Service Supervises: N/A
Essential Functions:
Visualize and work with molds in three dimensions, using reverse images; draft and design using CAD.
Digitize client contours from plaster casts, splints and foam-in-place sent by the customer.
Examine field digitized client images and determine their suitability.
Use BioSculptor software to design ContourU seating system, as specified on customer order.
Review customer orders and use selected options to make decisions on final design.
Generate and send CNC carver control files to the plant for processing.
Provide customer support in the use of the Skirbbl’r digitizing hardware and software.
Consult with customers on order options when questions arise.
Develop and possess knowledge to effectively support Pindot transactions, such as order validation & booking.
Use phone, fax and email to communicate with customers and others in the organization.
Digitize Silhouette data forms using digital drawing pad.
Design Silhouette seating systems using SeatMaker II software.
Assist with customer training.
Enter wood mount data into CNC Router software and optimizes layout.
Evaluate Remake and Returned product and generate modified designs.
Keep records of design parameters and reasons for their selection.
Log incoming orders and assign serial numbers to cushions.
Perform visual inspection of carved molds.
Retrieve information from AMAPS and Oracle.
Use Information Center to retrieve product/process information.
Perform job in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain an organized and clean working environment.
Adhere to all safety policies.
Complete all required training applicable to assigned position

Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or equivalent.
Two years experience in a manufacturing support function
Must be able to visualize and work in three dimensions and in reversed images
Ability to read and calculate fractions, decimals and geometrical calculations
Well versed in computer operating systems, file transfer and Email use
Solid written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Understanding and experienced in mold calibration, preparation and pouring process preferred.
Understanding of wheelchair seat mounting methods preferred.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Must have physical ability and manual dexterity necessary to perform the duties pertaining to job.
