The Field Inventory Supervisor is the on-site member of the Logistics Team in the district Office. The Supervisor is responsible for implementing company inventory/instrument policy and procedure on a district and territory level. This includes minimizing inventory/instrument investment as well as maintaining accurate records of product placements. Responsible for the day to day supervision of the District office inventory and logistics function and the OSC Specialists and Inventory Specialists. Good working knowledge of company products, operating systems and procedures is critical.
Assigns and supervises the work flow of the logistics and inventory process in the district office
Responsible for the day to day supervision of the OSC Specialists and Inventory Specialists in the district office
Responsible for the performance management process regarding assigned employees
Facilitate Internal Training
Responsible for training the new Logistics employees; OSC Specialists and Inventory Specialists. Assists with the training of the office staff and/or sales representatives on as needed basis
Assist in training on new operational procedures/systems
Will conduct training or support operations as needed at other company locations
Inventory Control/Record Integrity
Coordinates and supervises the Product Recall activities
Responsible for Ensuring that consignments are verified twice annually
Participates in annual physical inventory and maintain net adjustments within reserve amount
Visits stock points routinely to oversee that verification of assets and address concerns as required. Light travel required
Oversees and Maintains accurate IAP records
Conducts annual physical inventory and maintain net adjustments within reserve amount
Reviews instrument and inventory performance with District Sales Manager
Recommends adjustments to inventory/instrument levels to maximize performance
Achieves company asset investment goals as related to inventory and instruments
Develops procedures, systems and reports for company-wide application
Support Internal/External Customer
Advises and consult with District Manger
Provides reports and analysis to support product placement decisions
Provides analysis/reports pertaining to all P&L related District Operations
Supports systems including SAP and the Microsoft office suite
Determines least cost method of providing product to the customer
Ensures validity of ongoing surgery schedules to provide information for product needs
Tracks and reports Memphis Loaner usage
Maintains compliance with Smith & Nephew Standard Operating Procedures
Bachelors Degree with emphasis in Logistics Management, Operations Management, or Accounting; or
An appropriate combination of education and a period of eight years experience in Inventory, Materials Management, Customer Service, Distribution, Accounting, Financial Analysis, or related fields
Self-reliance and confidence for broad empowerment as directed by the Manager
Window Office Suite required-Windows, Word, Excel, Internet Explore and Email
Access (or other relational database) is a plus
Experience in a production planning, inventory management or customer service system is required
