Microfinish, located in Vandalia is adding a 1st shift, full time finisher to their team.
Finishers typically start off by learning how to hand finish landing gear components using various pneumatic hand tools. As the skill set increases, cross training on aerospace engine components may begin, followed by the opportunity to polish medical implants or other metals to a mirror finish.
Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications.
Comply with safety requirements, including wearing PPE as required.
Willingness to learn from experienced metal polishers
Ability to work with one's hands and control hand tools.
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience
Preferred experience working within a manufacturing environment
Ability to lift and or move 50 pounds occasionally
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
