Job Description
The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for performing data analysis to support operational and business objectives related to Inventory Accuracy and Continuous Improvement activities. This role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to address process deficiencies and improvement initiatives. Through project-based exposure, the analyst is expected to develop subject matter expertise of application data components. Through research and analysis, the OE Analyst will provide data-driven insight to resolve issues and execute Operational Excellence strategy to exceed departmental and corporate goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and executes data analysis, research, and systems/process implementation for the Applied Industrial Technologies Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement team.
Interprets data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports.
Consults with field leadership to gather and interpret data and provide process/system guidance.
Identifies opportunities for improvement based on industry best practices and work with appropriate internal teams for development.
Collaborates with internal resources to implement strategy and process enhancements.
Maintain, update, and report on root-cause data related to inventory adjustments made in the field. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and training to reduce errors at their root cause.
Identify inventory accuracy related cost savings and process improvement opportunities, partnering with Service Centers and field management. May act as a participant as well as a project team lead.
Document procedures, processes related to inventory accuracy. Provide training / coaching as needed.
Promote continuous improvement through data mining and analytics.
Collaborate with relevant departments on projects to define and document requirements for new functionality, test solutions, and support implementation.
Organize data and conduct analysis to research and troubleshoot operational deficiencies. Adhere to a standard processes for evaluation and provide appropriate communication on the problem and resolution.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree. Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain management major preferred.
Minimum 2 years proven experience with data mining and analysis and working with multiple concurrent projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Access and query tools.
Demonstrated Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, basic query function)
Ability to effectively relate to and communicate with people at all levels of the organization as well as external customers, vendors.
Strong systems and analytical skills including gathering facts, figures and concepts into a concise management summary with recommendations and action plans.
Experience with ERP systems required; Proficiency in SAP preffered.
Ability to execute action plans, with success, as an individual or as a leader in a team environment.
Basic skills for documenting process flows and creating process documentation.
Lean certification a plus.
