* Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (with a specialization or concentration in Supply Chain Management or Logistics) at an accredited 4-yr college or university in the United States
* Have completed at least one year of college
* Cumulative GPA of at least 2.7
* Have completed courses in Supply Chain Management
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
Purpose of Program
The Parker Hannifin Corporate Summer Internship Program was established in 1978 to identify and develop college students who show promise of being productive Parker employees by providing real-world experience in disciplines critical to Parker's business.
Basic Function:
As an intern, you will gain experience while supporting the department's function.
Scope/Supervision:
Work at our Corporate Headquarters in Cleveland for the summer on Supply Chain Management related projects. The manager will help the intern develop experience in supply chain management.
Responsibilities - Possible areas of work include:
o Inventory management.
o Procurement and/or logistics for Parker plants/divisions.
o Acquire skills to produce maximum profit and provide quality service.
o Develop insights to supply chain management including: procurement forecasting, order entry, processing, inventory control, and logistics while learning Parker's Lean system.
Past Supply Chain / Logistics projects have included: Review, approve, and process purchase orders; Set up new suppliers and supplier maintenance; Organize and determine a best method of transportation for frequent lanes of transportation; Analyze and record the efficiency rates of the Less-than-Truckload providers; Update addresses, authorization list, and supplier payment terms in requisition system.
