Description
Organizes and conducts Speech-Language Therapy program tofacilitate the rehabilitation of people with communication and swallowingdisorders. The Speech-Language Pathologist directs the patient's participation inselected activities/treatments to restore, re-enforce and correct pathology topromote and/or maintain good health.
Essential duties include: Performsevaluation(s) and develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patientsrehabilitation needs within the care continuum.
Performs effectivetreatment techniques in a competent manner. Educates patient/family/caregiverin applicable health information, treatment and prevention.
Initiates andparticipates in the discharge planning process.
Performs other departmentactivities such as, but not limited to documentation, billing, support ofdepartment operations, etc.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Requires the evaluation and treatment skills necessary to provide Speech-Language Therapy appropriate to the developmental and chronological age of patients on caseload. Professional initiative, objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills. Must be physically, cognitively and perceptually able to provide patient treatment and able to assist in physical mobility of patients and equipment.
Education Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Therapy program
License Requirements:
Licensed by the State of Ohio to practice Speech-Language Therapy.
Preferred Qualifications: Acute adult experience required.
Availability to work weekends and cover PTO or census fluctuations on weekdays preferred.
