This is a full-time, temporary position.  This job order may lead to the filing of an H-2B application.Disclosure of job order & Notice of Worker Rights can be viewed at the OMJ Centers.

MULTIPLE WORKSITES: multiple worksites within Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit counties. 

NUMBER OF OPENINGS: 14

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Repair and install the roofs of buildings using a variety of materials including shingles, slate, asphalt, wood and metal. May spray roofs, sidings, and walls with material to bind, seal, insulate, or soundproof sections of structures. Must be able to work at heights in excess of 15 feet above ground.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Requires twelve months of roofing experience. 

WORK HOURS: The standard work schedule is from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer will offer 40 hours per week. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours, depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours. Criminal background check post hire, drug screen pre-employment, upon suspicion, and upon accident/incident. Extensive walking, exposure to extreme temperatures, frequent stooping, repetitive movements.  

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: 4/1/21-11/30/21

ON THE JOB TRAINING PROVIDED: No.

WAGE OFFER: $20.36 per hour. Overtime at $30.54 per hour. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Paid bi-weekly. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation, at the company’s sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. The payroll period is bi-weekly. Workers are paid by check on Friday.

OVERTIME INFORMATION: OT hours may vary

PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS: All deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law will be made. Employer does not envision other workforce-wide payroll deductions.  Voluntary deductions must be pre-authorized in writing and may include the following: Voluntary advances and/or loans made to workers, if any, may be repaid by pre-authorized payroll deductions. The employer offers optional employee health insurance to its workers; participation in any such plan is voluntary.  

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES

BOARD, LODGING, OR FRINGE BENEFITS If needed, employer intends to assist foreign and non-local U.S. workers hired pursuant to this job order to secure optional worker-paid lodging not to exceed reasonable fair market value cost based on number of occupants. Housing-related expenses are paid directly to facility owner/operator and are not payroll deducted.    

DAILY TRANSPORTATION (OPTIONAL) Employer will offer daily transportation to and from the worksite from a centralized designated pick-up place at no cost to workers.  Use of this transportation is voluntary. Employer provides incidental transport between job sites.

FIRST WORKWEEK GUARANTEE Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visas, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees).

 

Inbound / Outbound Transportation and Subsistence If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $12.68 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00per day with receipts.

 

Provision of Tools, Supplies, and Equipment The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

Single Workweek for PayThe employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due.

THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE (Optional)The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
