The role at a glance:

The Healthcare Facilities Planning and Data Analyst is responsible for conducting a variety of planning and analysis activities to support strategic planning, master facility and programming projects. The Healthcare Facility Planning and Data Analyst will create and maintain spreadsheets and databases providing analysis and interpretation of the information from clients and create presentations in a variety of formats based on the analyses.  As part of the firm-wide Consulting Group the Facility Planning and Data Analyst will keep abreast of current and emerging trends, help develop new analytical tools and methods, and serve as firm-wide analytical support.

 In your new role, you will:

 Data Analysis

Conducts complex, strategic data analyses through integration of data from client generated and external information sources in a variety of qualitative and quantitative formats.
Uses custom forecasting models and software programs to perform market analyses that consider demographics, utilization trends, strategic inputs, market share and operational drivers
Analyzes and synthesizes client generated and external reports including environmental and community needs assessments, business plans, strategic plans, benchmarking reports, resource analyses, cost-benefit analyses, and cost-effectiveness analyses.
Collaborates with the Urban Design and Digital Design practices to integrate non-traditional healthcare tools and methods into data analysis.
Develops recommendations based on analyses.
Monitors and communicates healthcare trends and current events.

Data Management

Uses integrated databases for complex marketing and strategic planning analyses of cross-market services.
Maintains integrity of all databases including troubleshooting measures such as identification of error elements with notification to in-house source or outside vendor.
Proficient in Microsoft Access and other relational database management systems with the ability to use SQL to create reports.
Provides assistance to all relevant firm data users to enhance system wide utilization of planning tools.
Promotes awareness and utilization of strategic information resources system wide, including data and programs.

Knowledge Design and Presentation

Prepares and designs spreadsheets and graphics for presentation using firm applications.
Designs formal and informal presentations and educational sessions for clients and colleagues.
Ability to develop and present complex concepts.

Professional and Practice Development

Keeps abreast of current issues and trends by attending appropriate meetings and reviewing current literature.
Explores professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
Identifies additional planning and decision support information resources and assists colleagues in their utilization.
Works with colleagues to develop and enhance planning expertise and to identify opportunities for project-specific assistance.

What you will need to succeed:

Bachelor or Master’s degree in healthcare or business administration.
Experience Requirements can vary depending on qualification and education. Preferred two-three years of experience and a proven track record in completing projects within a health system business development, strategic planning, or operations department; or a consulting firm.
Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to serve as a productive member of a team.
A desire to take the initiative, promote positive relationships with all members of the firm, and work independently when required.
Proficiency is Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, PowerBi, and Tableau.
Demonstrated understanding or ability in healthcare data software systems is preferred including knowledge of ICD-9/10-CM and DRG classification systems.
Demonstrated ability with database programs and an eagerness to learn new systems like Processing, Python, InDesign, and ArcGIS among others.
Ability to travel to other firm offices and client locations and conduct oneself with professional deportment. The position is seated in the firm’s Columbus office.
