Our expert-level staff support a centralized cyber defense environment that provides situational awareness of the Department of Defense's (DOD) Information Network (DODIN). Our team furthers efforts to collect, store, and analyze network traffic on the Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), and DOD enterprise services in an effort to detect and deter America's enemies.

Work Location: Columbus, OH (Government Site(s)) - This is a 24/7/365 environment. This is primarily a Mon - Fri dayshift position, though the chosen candidate must have the ability to work infrequent nights / weekends or as needed for support of emergency outages.

Clearance and Certification:


US Citizenship is required.

Current, active Secret Department of Defense (DoD) clearance required

DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or higher prior to starting (reference   for list of qualified certifications)

Position Description:

The Systems Administrator for 7x24x365 classified operations will be designing, installing, configuring, securing, and maintaining operating systems for mission critical servers in support of classified Department of Defense programs.

Job Responsibilities:


Supporting system design and troubleshooting data collection and delivery methods for real-time Cyber Defense Operations.

Documenting efforts and design outcomes to facilitate deployments to production environments.

Building and managing Red Hat Linux computing and clustered infrastructure.

Building and maintaining systems in accordance with DoD policies and procedures.

Recommending appropriate actions to monitor and finely tune systems to achieve optimum performance and load balancing.

Maintaining baseline systems in a lab environment in accordance with DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A) requirements.

This is a first shift position, working Monday - Friday. On rare occasions, weekend work may be required.

Minimum Requirements:


Education:


Master's degree in a related technical field; OR

Bachelor's degree in a related technical field plus two (2) years of relevant IT administration experience; OR

Associate's degree in a related technical field plus four (4) years of relevant IT administration experience; OR

Six (6) years of relevant IT administration experience in lieu of degree.


Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining Linux/Unix systems and related software.

Experience administering large Virtual Machine server installations -- dozens to hundreds of servers.

Current, active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.

Have a DoD 8570 IAT level 2 (or higher) Compliance Certification prior to start.

US Citizenship is required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with remote teams.

Ability to work nights or weekends as needed for on-call emergency outages.

Preferred Qualifications:


Working in a Scaled Agile environment.

Experience with data routing and transformation tools such as Apache NiFi and Apache Kafka.

Experience with Clustered File Systems.

Experience with Cloud Computing technologies.

Experience with virtualization technologies.

Experience with big data and data formats such as CSV, CEF, JSON, XML, etc.

Experience with Splunk
