Senior Software Engineer

Overview of Position
Senior Level full stack developer with a variety of experience. Looking for this person to help to set the design of new features, able to document and describe easily the implementation plan and break it into steps. Lead the UI/UX in continual improvement, code reviews, discussions and in defining and presenting best practices for the systems, code performance and security. Problem solving skills are highly essential as this position involves working on a product that is used in the healthcare industry by providers, labs and EMR vendors. This position will also be responsible for setting up a roadmap for migrating out of technical debt towards modern, scalable technologies.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Work with others in development team to design and develop software to meet business needs.
Understand and work towards best practices in software development, continual improvement and scalability of product.
Responsible for code delivery of features and functionality to delight users.
Work through complex workflows and test cases required as part of a feature add or fix.
Continuously grow and improve in skills and shared understanding of product and technology.
Work with off-shore/on-shore leads to ensure shared understanding of technology and requirements during projects and sprints.
Participate in Sprint Grooming, Planning, Reviews and Retrospectives.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, pair-programming.
Work closely with Technical Leads and QA. Be accountable to metrics, risk and delivery.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

10+ years of application development with 8 of those years programming in UI/UX Design and Best practices.
Experience with Restful Web Services
Java, Java EE technology (JSP, Servlets, JNDI, JDBC, etc.)
Java EE servers (Tomcat, Glassfish, JBoss, or similar)
Web Technology (Core HTML4/5, Core Javascript, jQuery, CSS) required
Continuous Integration & Delivery Systems (Jenkins, Hudson, Teamcity)
Strong on Agile development (Scrum, Kanban)
Agile tool experience (JIRA, Rally, VersionOne)
Strong Cloud experience with exposure to variety of AWS services

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

Understanding and experience with working on RDBMS and No-sql databases will be a plus.
Healthcare experience will be a huge plus
