The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, is recruiting for a full-time, postdoctoral fellow, to assist in the laboratory of Dr. Jane Yu. The incumbent will conduct research and/or analyze research data and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of the University of Cincinnati. Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee.

Essential Functions

Perform and conduct research related to Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, pulmonary biology and cancer, required by faculty supervisor to a high standard and in accordance with all institutional and federal regulations.

Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.

May support the development of proposals for research-related funding and grants.

Engage in the dissemination of the results of the research as directed by and with the support of associated faculty members.

Communicate to project team progress and results of research activities ensuring that relevant information and issues in the implementation of projects/experiments are captured in as comprehensive and timely manner as possible.

Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.

Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

Doctoral Degree in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related field, or the recognized terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent.

Required Experience

In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.

May require experience with specialized software programs.

Additional Qualifications Considered

In-depth knowledge of cancer biology, pulmonary biology, signaling transduction, and small animal handling/imaging is preferred.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work and collaborate effectively with students, faculty and staff from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
