Position Summary/Essential Duties:
Reviews submitted grants and contracts, including budgets, of protocols for basic research studies with the assistance of the Law Department.
Coordinates with Research Finance and research department to ensure fiscally responsible negotiated non-complex lower value sponsor research budgets.
Assures the timely processing of administration of UHC protocols and grants.
Maintains accurate administrative records including database entries.
Qualifications
Education/Expertise:
Bachelor’s degree required
Required Credentials, License and/or Certifications:
Must become CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) certified.
Will train to become a Certified Contract Coordinator (CCC).
Experience & Knowledge:
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in grant and contract administration involving research (master’s degree or law/business experience will be considered in lieu of research administration experience).
Excellent communication, writing and editing skills required.
Working knowledge of applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience in clinical trial research and budget construction preferred.
Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:
Individual will be required to learn Cost Accounting principles for grant administration in academic institutions (circulars A-110, A-21 and A-133).
