Northwest is seeking an experienced bank leader to oversee 28 offices covering the South-Central Region of our consumer banking network, which spans throughout Cambria, Centre, Clinton, Dauphin, Huntingdon, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lycoming, Mifflin, and York Counties. The Region President will direct and manage the retail and small business activities of the market in conjunction with Northwest's overall strategic objectives and goals. The selected candidate will coordinate regional initiatives to assure success and be a connected and active community leader.
Preferred Education, Training and Experience:
4 year degree in business / banking or related subject preferred, equivalent experience preferred, knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues, 15 years lending / banking experience, 12 years management experience, 8 years customer service experience, 5 years administrative experience, proven organizational and communication skills, ability to analyze financial data, motivator and team player.
This position is responsible for:
The overall sales culture, management and business development activities
Developing and presenting to Executive management for approval
Implementing and assessing performance in regard to short and long term strategic planning goals for the region, including but not limited to loan volume goals, growth and development of consumer, small business, commercial, trust and investment services, insurance and retail deposits, expense and credit controls, strategies to market and deliver all products and services, community leadership, human resource management, succession planning and meeting financial and compliance standards
Working closely with executive management to achieve goals and objectives of the Bank
Coordinating regional initiatives to assure business plan achievement for the region
Meeting regularly with regional management personnel to advise and discuss business plan achievement
Working as part of a team
Working with onsite equipment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
Developing Strategic Business Plan for meeting Northwest's goals and objectives
Overseeing strategies/initiatives to attain business plan goals and objectives
Presenting annual business plan for approval to Corporate Management
Developing direct lending activity
Monitoring and performing Center of Influence calls
Overseeing all revenue and expenses of the region
Mentoring Area/District Managers to maximize revenue
Mentoring Area/District Managers to maximize efficiencies
Implementing measuring and monitoring systems
Leading sales initiatives with all business partners
Initiating changes, improvements and new procedures
Developing and instigating significant community contacts and opportunities
Spearheading sales growth and customer retention campaigns
Responsible for assigned production goals
Coaching team members and business partners on sales process
ADMINISTRATION:
Ensuring compliance with Northwest policies and procedures
Ensuring compliance with State/Federal regulations
Ensuring total document/data integrity
Overseeing minimum loss exposure
Overseeing improvements to recovery activity
Maximizing overall operating efficiencies
Minimizing overall operating expenses
Partnering with Corporate staff and management
Overseeing accurate Audit Certification
Preparing and analyzing management reports including sales reports and pipelines
Coordinating activity with all business partners
Creating sales culture within the Region
Occasional and frequent travel is required
LENDING:
Managing direct lending activity and exceptions
Overseeing the Small Business Development and lending within Region
Ensuring compliance with applicable underwriting guidelines
Overseeing Commercial Lending, Trust and Investment referrals, Retail Mortgage and Equity Loans
Supporting corporate collection efforts and REO's
Supporting and monitoring loss recoveries
Supporting any legal action and associated case work within their Region
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Cultivating quality customer service in the region
Overseeing cultural changes in the region
Building customer relations at the high/senior level
Ensuring appropriate training and education activity
Initiating and developing improvements to procedures
Initiating customer service enhancements
Recommending fee generating alternatives
Recommending product/delivery enhancements
Actively developing cross-selling opportunities
Coordinating community involvement efforts
Managing community involvement in Region across all business lines
SAFETY/HEALTH:
Providing leadership and positive direction for maintaining the safety and loss prevention program
Actively participating in and supporting employee participation in the safety and loss prevention program by ensuring that employees know how to properly report a safety issue, making sure that all accidents are promptly reported to Human Resources and documented, and ensuring that prompt action is taken whenever workplace hazards are identified
Helping implement emergency procedures
Physical and Mental Requirements
The functions of this position usually require standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, bending, crouching, light lifting, walking, carrying and other movements. Tasks involve working on a computer keyboard, computer software applications, involved extensive wrist and hand movement, visual acuity, ability to frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, audibly, and quickly, and ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. All individuals in this position are required to have regular, onsite attendance and be able to perform these tasks without risk of injury to themselves, others, or to otherwise demonstrate or explain how they can perform the essential functions listed.
