Senior Director, CMIO, Cerner Government Services
We are excited to announce another leadership opportunity on our growing federal team. As the Senior Director, Chief Medical Information Officer, you will provide strategic direction and lead the VA Electronic Health Record Modernization functional team and the Clinical Adoption team. You will spearhead the development of the vision, strategy and have accountability for clinical relationships within our client base. You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining clinical relationships within our client base, prospects, and the overall Veterans Health Administration and drive reference-ability of our clients, designing strategies that directly impact reference-ability efforts. As a strategic leader you will be able to lead and influence clinical discussions with clients and prospects, promoting the alignment and adoption of technology enabled workflow.
As an executive you will be accountable for the leadership of cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to influence and execute clinical vision, objectives and strategy, and drive organizational and internal team initiatives including delivering on KPIs. You will act as an advisor in complex sales processes by providing support for solution demonstrations and, where necessary, answering request for proposal (RFP) questions. As a clinical expert you will be able to articulate clinical adoption benefits to clients and advise on best practices whilst leveraging the use of analytics to promote adoption and optimization. Experience working within the federal sector or the VA specifically is required and experience with Cerner systems is preferred.
* MD or DO from an accredited academic institution or comparable clinical training
* At least 11 years' experience within operations management and clinical or healthcare work
* At least 7 years people management experience
* Experience within the federal sector or the VA/DoD
* Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position
* Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen
* Medical Board Certification
* Experience with Cerner systems
* Active registration or license in a clinical discipline and has not been censured or forced to relinquish license due to impropriety
* Willing to travel up to 80% if virtual, up to 50% if located in DC
* Currently located in the DC area or a virtually approved city
