Reporting to the System Engineering Manager of our Gates Business, the Systems Engineer will be focused on the delivery of Gate solutions into customer environments. This role involves frequent international travel as our solutions are used at hundreds of airports across the globe, including the top 10 busiest airports. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to work on projects around the world and to experience many different cultures.

Delivering Solutions:

Work with the Project Engineering to meet the commitments of the company on projects, achieving customer satisfaction and building high-quality relationships with our customers.

Ensure the IT Solutions delivered are cutover into live operations with minimum disruption and in accordance with the company's processes.

Document the implementation and design of solutions.

Support the dedicated Service Team in cut over post go live.

Deliver training for customers on the GATE Solution.

Process and Procedure:

Support best practice processes: ITIL knowledge, DevOps environments a plus.

Systems and Testing:

Ensure the systems delivered are tested, deployed, and released to ensure customer satisfaction in accordance with the company's processes and project requirements.

Targeting in quality, in time and in budget execution.

Managing Opportunities:

Provide pre-sales support for specific opportunities as defined within the company's Opportunity Management Framework.

Support Solution Architects to enable them to specify the system design, development and deployment requirements originating from Projects, including job estimations.

Follow the DevOps principles, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.

Providing key input to the agile development processes and product design.

Leadership Requirements:

There are no leadership responsibilities for this position.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT or Computer Science related subject

Experience with (Azure) DevOps

Experience with TCP/IP networking

Familiarity of working with one programming language with proven project accomplishments

Experience of working internationally

Experience of delivering systems development/integration projects, ideally involving business-critical real-time/on-line systems (minimum 3 years' experience).

Networking knowledge on administration level (certificate is a plus).

Experience of RDBMS on administration level (PostgreSQL is a plus)

Experience of Linux and Windows system (administration level).

Virtualization (VM or Microsoft)

Experience with Azure cloud solution, Docker and/or Kubernetes

Active Directory/LDAP knowledge

Strong organizational skills

Strong project planning skills to meet customer commitments for large scale projects

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English. Other language skills a plus

Strong customer focus

Ability to travel and work overseas for potentially multiple weeks at a time

Ability to pass a Criminal Records Check for an airport airside pass.
